Fixer Upper

I had just finished a sign for some Waco business owners who are friends with Chip and Joanna. Not long after, they were eating dinner together when Joanna expressed the need to have a “go-to” metal art person for signs and cut outs, etc. Over the years, we’ve been involved in some really neat metal projects.

This rose gold finish is the perfect look if you're trying to create a classic but modern design that will work with most colors in your home. This warm neutral finish is a great option if you're looking for something with shine, class and style. Our unique metal signs are made in the USA by skilled craftsmen. The condition and treatment of the metal creates interesting imperfections and endearing characteristics that ensure you’ll never see another exactly like it. The product you receive will be completely one-of-a-kind—just like Jimmy Don himself. For several years, I was a partner with my father in the metal art business Stars Over Texas located in Crawford, Texas.

David Flash () is a marketing executive and digital media publisher for Big Bend Times, the media outlet with the largest audience in Texas's Transpecos region. With over ten years in sales and marketing, he excels in omnichannel marketing strategies that boost growth, revenue, and customer loyalty in various industries. You have 15 calendar days to return an items from the date you received it. Personalized Designs (personalized products from the website ordered with the personalized templates available online) ship in 6-8 weeks.

Smooth and shiny, this finish is reserved for designs that are greater than 3' in any direction. This will keep the color of the metal, but insure that most blemishes will be covered so that you receive a sleek and finished product. A rich, uniform gloss finish highlights the metal surface and simulates the stately appearance of burnished antique nickel. To supplement your builder and architect’s documents, we provide construction plans. We source all surface materials, finishes, fixtures, and picture-perfect appliances with your budget and timeline in mind.

Refined but not fussy, this uniform matte finish retains the metal grain and mutes the surface to accentuate the negative space of the cut design. All traces of cutting and machining have been refined. You are likely to find some of the great signs seen on HGTV’s Fixer Upper or have them design a custom sign just for you.

jdh iron design

Smooth and shiny, this finish adds a beautiful finish to any design. With its sleek and smooth characteristics, you won't see many of the original metal tones or grooves. With a sparkly sheen, this design hides blemishes and will have a limited reflection of light. Flecked and textured, this smooth finish is perfect for the stark contrast you're hoping for with a Black finish. This finish shines like copper when the light reflects from its glossy but deep finish. A deep and solid finish that covers the traces of cutting and machining.

Review: Yumi and the Nightmare Painter by Brandon Sanderson

design yumi and the nightmare painter

The attendants think something must be wrong and flee. Lowen Ashleigh is a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin when she accepts the job offer of a lifetime. Jeremy Crawford, husband of best-selling author Verity Crawford, has hired Lowen to complete the remaining books in a successful series his injured wife is unable to finish. Lowen arrives at the Crawford home, ready to sort through years of Verity's notes and outlines, hoping to find enough material to get her started.

End of Spoilers

Hikaru no Go is another childhood favorite of mine, and I knew this would bode well for me. And, of course, the other reason, Aliya Chen is the designated illustrator for this book. Aliya Chen is one of the best artists I have come across. You do not need to hear my words on how amazing she is at her art. Or, to put it more simply, read this book and witness her illustrations. Suffice it to say I had high expectations and excitement going into this book, and still, I was astounded.

Did you like the first one? You’ll love this

The effort and reward of doing this are imbalanced. You can’t possibly expect readers to read 4000 pages (currently almost 2,000,000 words) long of books to have a small benefit in reading this 110,000 words long standalone novel. That would make Yumi and the Nightmare Painter as a standalone novel inaccessible to many readers, which I’m pretty sure is not Sanderson’s intention. You WILL benefit from reading other books in the Cosmere first, no doubt about that, especially The Stormlight Archive. From now on, I will actually recommend Yumi and the Nightmare Painter as one of the good starting points in Cosmere. Especially if that specific reader is looking for a standalone novel.

design yumi and the nightmare painter

"Bookaccino Live: A Lively Talk About Books"

She finds that she can walk through the walls of buildings, confirming that everything is an illusion. Eventually she finds the machine in the bailiff's house, and the four scholars with it. They are caught by surprise as she bursts in and beats the machine with a stone until it fails, making a whining sound with a release of glowing white smoke. She thinks her mission is complete, but they ask what she thinks she is doing and Yumi realizes the true threat is the father machine they have mentioned before.

This is the kind of dynamics and struggles Sanderson implements into Yumi and Painter’s story. The story is once again told through the narration of Hoid, but do not expect this to be done in the same voice as Hoid’s in Tress of the Emerald Sea. It is different, and it works amazingly for the narrative and atmosphere. Even though Hoid is narrating here, the entire book is, without a shadow of a doubt, Yumi and Painter’s story.

By Author

design yumi and the nightmare painter

Painter patrols the dark streets dreaming of being a hero --- a goal that has led to nothing but heartache and isolation, leaving him always on the outside looking in. Yumi goes searching through the town but cannot find a single person. She decides to try damaging the machine, but can find no trace of the scholars or their machine, at first. She recalls hearing the scholars in her dreams and thinks the machine must be nearby if they were considering using it on her.

To this day, I’m not a hundred percent certain why. But this was close to where Virtuosity Splintered herself, and I suspect that had an effect. Kilahito was circular, and its perimeter held a final line of buildings, not quite a city wall. Outside of that was one last street, in a loop running around the city.

Disoriented by the strange setting, particularly the bright sunlight filling the wagon, Painter assumes he must be dreaming and begins testing this theory as Yumi yells for her attendants. He soon decides that the experience is not a dream, and Yumi calms as she comes to the conclusion that the boy must be the spirit she spoke to. Nikaro then looks out through the window at her alien world, spots the daystar, and concludes he must have traveled to "the star" in his own world's sky. Chaeyung and Hwanji enter the wagon carrying breakfast, walking directly through the incorporeal Yumi. She quickly realizes he must have taken her body, and is horrified as Nikaro begins to break the rituals.

Formats

Painter attempts to lead the nightmare away, giving Yumi an opportunity to double back and find her bell, but when she escapes Yumi freezes up. Tojin and Akane appear, having followed her earlier, and realize she has seen another nightmare. Yumi is reminded Painter must be in danger, and returns to her bag to find the bell is broken.

Painter then teases Yumi about her devotion to practicing the bamboo, and she goes to the window for a break and some fresh air as she tries to cool her frustrations. Painter considers how he wants to help Yumi but worries he will not be up to the real task. This fear is eased when Yumi explains they will use "art" to draw the spirits.

The story takes place on planet Komashi, a world enshrouded by a dark mist. The shroud regularly produces coherent nightmare creatures that can hurt or kill humans. Nikaro is a Painter, a group of people that use sumi-e painting to trap and disable the nightmares, thereby preventing them from hurting more people.

Wherever you listen, the unmistakable voice of Stephen Fry is guaranteed to guide you ever more deeply into this magical story and transport you to the heart of the adventure. Filled with stacked stones that call forth miracles, raised by callused hands that tremble in their work, drained with each stone lifted, settled, lifted again. He sighed, glancing to where two other nightmare painters strolled the perimeter. Akane wore a bright green skirt and buttoned white blouse, and carried the long brush of a nightmare painter like a baton.

Rithmatists are humanity's only defense against the Wild Chalklings—merciless creatures that leave mangled corpses in their wake. Having nearly overrun the territory of Nebrask, the Wild Chalklings now threaten all of the American Isles. The star was particularly bright when the nightmare painter started his rounds. Brandon Sanderson’s third secret project is a secret no more! Yumi And The Nightmare Painter catapults us back into the Cosmere after the non-Cosmere Frugal Wizard stumble. Yumi is an excellent return to form, complete with an interesting magic system, intriguing characters, and a brilliant setting.

Best Exterior Paint Colors for White Houses with Black Trim

I’ll add in an after shot soon, but for now, here’s our current exterior before the black windows are added. This trend of black trims has pushed the boundaries in-home designs and allowed people to experiment as per their personal choice. Whether it’s a traditional house or a modern style, this look with a black and white combination is easy to achieve and will ensure a highly aesthetic design for your home. The white house black trim combination not only makes the white stand out, but a pop of black adds an interesting contrast to the structure. Architectural elements and their colour selection are important to compose a good elevation.

Loving this black window trim but don’t need to replace your windows any time soon? You can check out some of my favorite Sherwin Williams black paint colors in an earlier blog I wrote if you’re thinking about going that route. Rake Board is one of the exterior trims that can be incorporated in a white house design. The off-white brick house can appear more intriguing with charcoal trims as it adds depth to the appearance.

Curved Features

This will quickly lessen the boldness of the black tone on the white house’s trim and exteriors. Black trims with white walls are not just for small houses or large two-story buildings. In fact, you can use this color combination on any type of architecture. Look at the above mansion; here, the classic white color is used with black. To keep a balance between these two contrasting colors, the front porch ceiling is not painted; instead, it is stained cedar. Also, there is no added accent color or bold color in this house exterior.

White House with Black Roof

If you want to spruce up your white house with black trim, consider grey roof shingles instead of black. Grey is the ideal color to contrast white and black, thus resulting in an interesting visual impact that makes the house look unique and cozy. You can even bring out the boldness of white by adding other black accents such as window frames and black roof shingles. The contrast between white and black is our favorite in terms of how stylish the two colors look next to one another.

The material you decide for your windows will influence the performance, cost, and lead time needed. Plenty of homeowners are choosing a white house black windows to create a sharp contrast. The design was easy, going with a modern and black roofing, white stucco as well as black trim on the windows,, making the house really stand out. I like the small set of stairs leading from the patio that leads toward the glass sliding doors.

Spanish Revival Architecture draws inspiration from the Spanish colonial architecture in the 16th and 17th centuries. This architecture gained popularity in the United States, especially in California and Florida, during the early 20th century. Though typically, the color of the Spanish house is red and brown, it can look more exquisite with a black and white theme. This option is also very beautiful when it comes to architecture and features. Including all the features of this house, the final result is truly captivating and aesthetic that can be liked by anyone on this earth.

I wanted to include this picture of Castle Hill Inn to show how a historic style can have white with black trim on a house. I like to think the white house black trim trend can work even on a historic style home. The white and black color combination is timeless, and whenever it is used for exterior design, it always creates a mesmerizing and attractive effect. This color combination appears to be more classy compared to other combinations. The simple yet iconic color combination of white and black colors can make anything look stunning and visually appealing. The two colors have high contrast differences, which makes the design more catchy and vibrant.

Whether you want a modern, minimalist, or bold look, you can never go wrong with this black and white combination. You can also add an accent color or a glossy finish for an extra addition. White house black trims are a classic evergreen combo that you can use in any architectural style. Yes, no matter the style of your residence, you can go with this combination without having any secondary doubts.

Though, this two-toned palette does not have to be strictly textbook. Enhancing angles can help boost the extent and elevate the home’s overall impression. Fiber cement siding can be paid for as large exterior cabinets with a smooth, wood grain or stucco texture. Smooth fiber cement paneling gazes particularly modern, especially when intensified with additional lines and geometric-inspired architectural features. Modern paneling is not just for community dwellers; homes in residential locales also look great with this model. Country houses have a charm that makes anyone fall in love with them!

On stone or brick, the off-white color looks very stunning in place of white. Have a look at the above picture and you will realize how luxurious the two combinations are. It adds much aesthetic curiosity to your white house with a black hem.

For a more substantial division between areas of the room put up a half wall or use modular shelving (fixed to the wall or floor), or screens as separation. Adjustable shelving is a must-have for a successful child’s room design. It needs to be safely fixed to the wall and accessible, of course – anything unreachable won’t be used.

Try a Black Accent Wall

The light fixture is such a great statement piece, and you can see just off to the right is a cozy area to sit and for feeding. If I had ever designed a twin nursery for myself, I would have undoubtedly used golden cribs. The large dresser provides a great space for storage, in addition to the open shelving. This large space is a really fantastic example of using the principles of zoning to create cozy spaces, even in a wide open space. The mural along the wall behind the crib is such a beautiful statement and really set the tone for the rest of the space. Across the room is a neat diagonal accent wall with the changing area and feeding areas.

Crate & Barrel Nouveau 4-Piece Curved Sectional

Choose timeless and sophisticated pieces over trendy, disposable pieces that won't stand the test of time. It will be a worthwhile expense since you get to enjoy and use the pieces over a long time. The most important thing to consider is child safety when designing the nursery. The crib should meet safety standards, the crib mattress should be firm and there should not be loose bedding, pillows, bumper pads or stuffed toys in the crib. Check out this baby proofing checklist to keep baby safe at all times. Deciding when to start putting together a nursery is no doubt a question that comes to mind for most expecting parents.

A Pretty Crib That Grows With Your Child

Designing a nursery involves a delicate balance between creating a beautiful and functional space while also sticking to a budget. An essential principle in managing your nursery expenses is understanding where to invest more and where you can afford to cut back. Sensible budgeting doesn't mean compromising on style or comfort; instead, it leads to a space that grows with your child while reflecting your taste.

design a nursery

First and foremost, we chose only the best-looking curved couches on the market. Next, we consulted reviews, plucking out the sofas with the most five-star ratings and positive feedback from verified reviews. Aim to have the nursery fit in well with your home’s overall theme and decor. If most of your house is farmhouse-style, what kind of staples can you add to your baby’s room to fit that mold? If you live in a modern apartment, keep that in mind when designing your child’s space.

Toddler beds are practical because they’re low to make climbing in easy, and are designed to prevent kids rolling out. After that, it’s down to aesthetics with a choice between more whimsical offerings and plainer wood or wood-look designs. If you pick either a hard flooring option like wood or laminate for a baby’s room, or want to brighten up a plainly carpeted floor, layer a rug on top. Flat weave or short pile rugs are easiest to keep clean and both wool and cotton are soft and durable. Vinyl flooring that’s good quality is warm, hard wearing, easy to clean and forgiving as a surface. It’s available in brilliant colours, if you want to make the floor the focus, as well as more subtle shades, or opt for the neutrality of a wood-look vinyl.

Seasonal Decor

At the far end of the room, Levine installed a lush purple sofa with cocktail tables, creating the perfect spot for drinks, dessert, or relaxing with a cup of coffee. The designers worked with a color palette of Dunn-Edwards paints, and several chose to highlight the brand’s 2024 Color of the Year, a steely blue called Skipping Stones. Nods to Pasadena’s famous peacocks can be found throughout the designs, and many creators fearlessly brought in statement floors, enveloped their spaces with jewel tones, and added texture to ceilings. Others focused on bringing the beauty of the estate’s gardens and views inside with verdant murals, floral fabrics, and nature-inspired lighting.

Chapter #5: Find the Perfect Layout

“I wanted you to feel like you were transported to another time and place,” Scheff says. Mina Lisanin is the founder of her eponymous New York City-based full-service firm. Before starting her firm, she worked as an interior designer at such top firms as Gensler and Unispace.

Use these tips to create a nursery that you'll love and a space that will grow with your baby. For a bedroom off the nursery, Carmine Sabatella wanted to create a jewel-toned escape. “I thought, if somebody’s taking care of the baby, they have a space where they can come and feel like it’s a retreat,” Sabatella says. The designer outfitted a door handcrafted in India with a vintage mirror to create a one of a kind headboard and bathed the space in deep emerald green. The glamorous touches continue in the ensuite bath, where Sabatella added a custom mirror-tiled tub that plays off the vintage French tile floor.

Also consider an ottoman-style bed with capacious storage that can be accessed by lifting the mattress for older children. Bunk beds are space-saving for room sharers, or ready for sleepovers if the room has just one occupant. Top bunks should be reserved for the over sixes and the mattress shouldn’t be so thick that it allows them to roll over the barrier. Ambient light for the room is usually provided by a ceiling pendant, down lights or track lighting. You might want to hang a pendant with an attractive shape (to throw interesting patterned shadows), or in a beautiful colour.

Designing a nursery space that works for you and your baby requires careful thought and planning. This way, you can create a sanctuary for your growing family that is both functional and stylish. A versatile dresser is another key piece of nursery furniture that can grow with your child.

Once baby is old enough, or whenever you’re ready to transition them into their nursery, there are 5 elements I think are necessary! To help you get your growing child into a regular sleep routine, we’ve put together these toddler sleep tips. The easiest way to check that your nursery is totally up to date safety-wise? 90s house music

Re-released in 1995 it received worldwide acclaim, peaking at or near the top of the charts in many countries. Toward the second half of the ’90s, as American house music spread across Europe, it began morphing into unusual new forms marked by broken rhythm patterns, unconventional textures, and playful sound design. Matthew Herbert was right in the middle of it, with one foot in the UK’s exploding house scene and an ear for the minimalist antics that would soon revolutionize German dancefloors.

ORIGINAL LOVE – Seppun

Compared to the harmonic range of most of their soul-, jazz-, and gospel-tinged productions—their 1990 debut LP, in fact, came out on Motown—the 1996 single employs little more than a fistful of chords arrayed around a driving house groove. Filtered this way and that, morphing between strings, Rhodes, and synths, they move like mercury and glisten like opal; Steve Reich himself couldn’t have envisioned a more enveloping matrix of pulses. The triumvirate of punk, hardcore, and ska helped to provide an alternative to mainstream rock and metal during the 1990s. Blink-182 masterfully blended pop hooks with playful, sneering lyrics and fast punk grooves, while Sublime married their obsessions with punk and Jamaican music. Swedish hardcore band Refused helped shape the future of punk, blending hardcore rhythms with unforgettable melodies.

‘Love Can’t Turn Around’ – Farley ‘Jackmaster’ Funk

Armand Van Helden's lengthy discography includes remixes for Tori Amos, Brittany Spears, Katy Perry, and Janet Jackson. One of his most iconic tracks hit the airwaves in 1999, sparking a surge of disco house tracks that dominated dance floors. The groovy four-on-the-floor beat features the rousing soulful vocals of Duane Harden. It easily tugs on the heartstrings, if it doesn't touch you, you may not be alive.

Guy – Groove Me

In the U.S., house music had already climbed the pop charts by the late ’80s, and underground producers were signing major label contracts. There were formidable domestic movements in Belgium, France, Italy, Japan, and South Africa, each with their own sound and style. A number of electronic and electronic-leaning acts changed the course of music in the 90s. Aphex Twin brought a unique perspective that captivated hip audiences previously hesitant to listen to “electronic music.” Plenty of other acts broke through to the mainstream thanks to their pop and rock-leaning styles as well. Moby blended lush, catchy samples with hazy downtempo electronics, and Nine Inch Nails found a middle ground between electronic and acoustic instruments. Stereolab combined French pop with Krautrock to create one of the most unique sounds of the decade, and Portishead used the aesthetics of hip-hop to help introduce trip-hop.

90s house music

While music from Japan was growing in influence in the 1980s, it took a massive leap forward in the 1990s as artist such as Cornelius began finding audiences outside of the country. FISHMANS brought an incredible blend of Japanese pop music with Jamaican-inspired dub, while ORIGINAL LOVE helped establish J-pop as a force to be reckoned with. As rock was veering down a number of different paths in the 90s, metal and hard rock music continued to evolve to incorporate genres like hip-hop into heavier leaning rock. Korn, Limp Bizkit, and Rage Against the Machine walked this line effortlessly.

Semisonic – Closing Time

Mr. Fingers is Larry Heard, a totemic figure in the history of Chicago house music. ”—produced alongside Robert Owens and Robert Wilson as Fingers Inc.—endures today as one of the genre's most iconic tracks, and has been remixed and reworked by countless producers who came after. Throughout various interviews, Heard has characterized himself as an instrumentalist who prefers the more organic songwriting process to computer-based composition, and his 1992 album testifies to that. While much of it is built on top of drum machines and synths, it often sounds more like fully formed R&B or soul than the stripped-back club tracks many of his contemporaries were producing at the time. The double platinum-selling debut album from the Italian group Black Box played a huge role in bringing house music to pop radio the world over. To add insult to injury, the group then hired a tall, skinny model to lip-sync in the music video for their album's second single—rather than giving camera time to the more heavy-set Wash.

House Hits

But nothing better exemplifies ’90s dance music than house, whose pumping groove supplies the heartbeat of club culture. Those springy piano chords, those kaleidoscopic synth stabs, those driving beats… They just always sound great. Detroit’s Derrick May (working under the name Strings of Life here) might be a techno pioneer, but he arrived there by feeding Chicago house through a futuristic, funky shredder, epitomised by this timeless track.

90s house music

Despite the deeply shady business dealings, Dreamland remains one of the most iconic albums of the ’90s, even for non-house heads. This 1997 album is a masterpiece of audio collage, pulling in samples from jazz, gospel, funk and disco and threading them together into a hazy, hour-long dream sequence. Kenny Dixon Jr.—who, alongside artists like Theo Parrish and Marcellus Pittman, helped define the endearingly unpolished sound of deep house in Detroit. The album is a collection of previously released tracks from Dixon's own KDJ Records, which were then re-edited and re-issued as a long-player for Planet E Communications, the label owned by Detroit house and techno hero Carl Craig. Carl Craig's Landcruising from 1995 was certainly influential enough to be included on a best ’90s electronic albums list, though traditionalists would say it veers too far into techno territory to count on this one in particular.

House Tracks

And one of the best songs of the 90s, full stop, emerged with Chaka Demus & Pliers’ anthem, “Murder She Wrote.” Elsewhere in the scene, Beres Hammond infused his style of reggae with the feel of romantic ballads. Chicago-based production/vocal outfit Fingers Inc. may only have been active for a few years in the mid-’80s, but they released some undisputed gold during that time. Easily at the top of the pile is ‘Mystery of Love’, an epic, atmospheric vocal house journey that seduces the listener but also demands some dancefloor action. Techno master Juan Atkins also made some incredible, spacey proto-house under his electrified Model 500 moniker. ‘No UFO’s’ was decidedly, defiantly different to the abundance of smoother, Chicago-style tracks of the time (1985), making its weird, robotic grooves even more alluring. Compiling, mixing, and remastering the best 90s House remixes has been a remarkable endeavor.

But it really took off in the ballroom scene, where the song’s insouciant riff and percussive accents were perfectly suited to voguing’s athetically extravagant dance moves. The 90s were the Golden Age of hip-hop music for many, and it’s easy to see why. Many of the greatest rap albums in the history of the genre, and many of the best albums, period, of all time, were created during that decade. The list of artists who dropped all-time albums during the 90s is pretty staggering, and it wasn’t limited to a particular coast, either. 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, and Dr. Dre were changing the sound of the West Coast, while a little duo called OutKast were proving that the South had something to say. But the East Coast, particularly New York, was the Mecca of rap in the 90s, headlined by stars like Notorious B.I.G., Nas, Gang Starr, Wu-Tang Clan, and more.

A bangin' 4/4 beat sampling Hamilton Bohannon’s disco hit, "Me And The Gang." The simple lyrics have made this a nostalgic icon of 90s house. Harddrive is made up of artists Louie Vega and Kenny Dope, a powerful and innovative duo championed by the label Strict Rhythm. Released in 1993, its catchy and evocative hook is sampled from Barbara Tucker's 1993 track “Beautiful People. Since the original release, the song has been remixed countless times.

The Shep Pettibone remix of “Rhythm Nation” by Janet Jackson, or Shep’s House Mix of “Miss You Much” are a testament to the talent of these pioneers. Spanning from 1988 to 1991, the Ultimate 90’s House Music Classics series encapsulates this genre’s underground roots before its mainstream success. The 90s House music classics like “Finally,” by CeCe Peniston “Show Me Love,” by Robin S and “Gypsy Woman (She’s Homeless)” by Crystal Waters owe their existence to the humble beginnings in Chicago, spreading to New York and then globally. The music doesn’t begin so much as surface, as if “Around the World” arises from some great depth, that lowpass filter cutting out the high-end without obscuring the “fundamental” signal.

They, along with contemporaries like LFO and Baby Ford, put their own psychedelic spin on the stripped-back Chicago sound of the mid-’80s, leading to the birth of a distinct UK rave movement. State 90 was their first album to be distributed in the U.S. and came with a re-edited version of their breakout single, “Pacific State,” a track you may recognize from its infectious saxophone riff if nothing else. It laid the groundwork for the UK's electronic music explosion, and it inspired everyone from Björk to Aphex Twin and the Chemical Brothers. This memorable track, produced in 1991 by the Basement Boys harmoniously fuses a crispy house beat with Waters' background in Jazz. House was still very much underground when "Gypsy Woman," was released.

In recent years its joyous hooks have been sampled by modern house stalwarts Hercules and Love Affair and pop superstar Rihanna. Originally a riff on a proto-house classic, Isaac Hayes’s 1975 disco foray ‘I Can’t Turn Around’, this collaboration between turbo-lunged singer Darryl Pandy and Farley Keith blew the roof off house music at the time. It still has the distinction of being a true crossover hit that’s maintained its dancefloor appeal decades on.

Angelique Kidjo, meanwhile, became a sensation in her home country in Benin and around the world thanks to her thrilling blend of Afropop with R&B and soul music. Elsewhere, Baaba Maal brought Senegalese folk music to a wide, adoring audience. To those who regard electronic music as being devoid of emotion, we give you this staggering 1986 masterpiece from the saintly Larry Heard (under his Mr Fingers alias).
